Parish Councils from across the local area recently came together to share ideas and approaches to community emergency planning, with Forrabury & Minster Parish Council hosting the meeting at Boscastle Village Hall.
The session provided an opportunity to review current work, discuss local risks, and explore how neighbouring communities can support one another during events such as severe weather, power outages, or disruption to communications.
Recent experiences, including the impacts of Storm Goretti, have highlighted the importance of preparation, clear communication, and strong local networks. Bringing councils together helps to build a more coordinated and resilient approach across parish boundaries.
This work will continue as plans are developed, reviewed, and strengthened, alongside engagement with Cornwall Council Emergency Management and the Cornwall Community Flood Forum.
