Forrabury & Minster Parish Council is developing a Community Emergency Plan to help our parish stay safe and connected during local emergencies.
Events such as flooding, prolonged power cuts, telecoms failures, or severe weather can sometimes leave our community temporarily isolated. This plan will help us coordinate a local response until official support arrives.
At its heart, the plan is about neighbours helping neighbours. It sets out how we can share information, check on vulnerable residents, open local support hubs, and work together to keep everyone safe. It won’t replace the emergency services — 999 should always be called where there is risk to life — but it will help us be better prepared while waiting for help to reach us.
When complete, the Boscastle Community & Recreation Centre on Fore Street will serve as the parish Community Hub, providing a safe point for coordination, updates, and local support if the plan is activated. The Village Hall will remain available as a base for the emergency services if required.
