Forrabury & Minster Parish Council is identifying the local resources and skills that could make a real difference during floods, power cuts, or severe weather.
We’re building a record of what already exists in our community — from tools and spaces to practical skills or equipment that could be used safely if the plan were activated.
Examples include:
- Access to sheltered or working spaces that could support coordination or storage
- Generators or heating equipment that can provide temporary power or warmth
- Tradespeople — builders, plumbers, electricians, tree surgeons — who can assist with safe recovery
- Communications tools such as two-way radios or satellite phones
- Vehicles or transport that could help reach remote areas — where safe, competent, and appropriately insured to do so
You don’t have to be available all the time, and you don’t need to commit to any specific role — just letting us know what exists locally helps the Parish Council plan ahead.
Anyone providing equipment or practical support will always be expected to work safely, within their competence, and under their own insurance for specialist or powered equipment.
