At its meeting on 11 June 2026, Forrabury and Minster Parish Council voted to support the Dowr Glan (“Clean Water”) campaign and sign its collective Letter of No Confidence in South West Water.
Dowr Glan is a Cornwall-wide grassroots campaign that brings together town and parish councils, community groups and residents concerned about sewage pollution, water quality and rising water bills. The campaign seeks to unite councils across Cornwall in calling for significant reform of the management of Cornwall’s water and sewage services.
By June 2026, dozens of Cornish councils had already voted to support the campaign and sign the letter. The letter is addressed to DEFRA, Ofwat, Cornwall Council and Cornwall’s Members of Parliament. It calls for South West Water to be removed from the management of Cornwall’s water and sewage systems and for those services to be transferred to a publicly owned organisation run as a public service.
Following discussion, councillors unanimously agreed that Forrabury and Minster Parish Council should add its voice to the growing number of Cornish councils supporting the campaign.
