We’ve had the most amazing summer in Boscastle, and it’s been fantastic to see so many visitors, as well as children and families from surrounding areas, enjoying our beautiful harbour.
However, with this wonderful influx of people, locals and visitors alike have noticed a significant increase in litter around the harbour. We’d like to gently remind every one of the importance of helping us keep this special place clean and tidy.
The photograph below shows just one example — this large bag of rubbish was recently collected by a local resident from the New Pier side of the harbour.
Bins are provided by the National Trust around the harbour, or where possible, please
take your litter home with you.
Parents, we’d really appreciate you reminding children who regularly visit the harbour about the importance of looking after our environment.
We’ve also noticed an increase in litter around the Bottreaux Castle site, and sadly a fire has recently been made on the ground there. With the current dry weather, fires are particularly inappropriate and pose a serious risk.
Please help us look after the places we’re so lucky to call home and that so many people come to enjoy.
