PLANNED ENGINEERING WORKS FOR COUNTY BRIDGE, THE HARBOUR
You may already know that Boscastle Bridge, over the River Valency, is due to be waterproofed, and Cormac have been appointed as main contractor to carry out the works.
The improvements, which will extend the life of the bridge deck, will commence on Tuesday 3rd January 2023, and should be completed by mid-March. They are to be carried out in three consecutive phases, moving from one side of the bridge to the other, and will include traffic lights and some temporary road and footway surfaces being put in place. This does extend the duration of the works, but it avoids the need for a full road closure and reduces the level of disruption to residents and businesses.
Vehicle and pedestrian access to the Harbour and National Trust roads, and to Valency Row (to the north of the bridge) will be maintained throughout. There will be a short closure of the bridge, towards the end of the project, for the final resurfacing. We will let you know when this will be, a little nearer to the time.
Some of the works can unfortunately be quite noisy, and it is possible that you may experience some associated disruption at times. We will do all we can to minimise this, and are very grateful to you for your patience and understanding.
If you do have any queries or concerns, or would like to speak to someone about this, please call Cormac on 0300 1234 222, or email contracting@cormacltd.co.uk
